#ASFP2024 Roll Call! I’m a 3rd-year cognitive neuroscience PhD student @UCLA who’s helping underrepresented PhD applicants in psychology through @asfp_phd because high-quality mentorship and feedback have been integral to my academic success. That shouldn't be a luxury.
My first, first-author empirical paper is now out in a special issue of Cognitive, Affective, & Behavioral Neuroscience! 🧠 https://t.co/JkV2ARCxMx
Much thanks to my great mentor @DavidClewett for entrusting me with this project!
I’m thrilled to share my very first first-author paper! It’s been a journey, and I’m excited to walk you through our key findings on how our wandering minds impact memory. Ever find yourself zoning out in the middle of a task? That’s mind-wandering, and while it might seem harmless, it actually has some surprising effects on how we recall the order of events. Our study set out to explore this connection.

Thrilled to share this paper on my work in @DavidClewett's lab! We provide evidence of a way to weaken negative memories without directly retrieving them: https://t.co/iLUI9W7LJf
Thanks to my amazing mentor Dave & collaborators Amna, Camille, @huang_ringo, & @QualiaInverted!
📢 New preprint from @DavidClewett & I! We find that people with higher pupil-linked arousal to sounds 👁️ - and greater self-reported trait anxiety - remember overlapping features as more similar than they really are. Check out our discussion & ideas! 💭

As I close in on my first year of grad school, I have a LOT of writing to do in the next month. #AcademicTwitter what're some of the most helpful writing tips or resources you've seen? Aside from having a reference manager and not using twitter to procrastinate...
ACME lab popped off this week at #LEARNMEM2023 !
Still consolidating the insane amount of cool work shared over the last five days but feeling inspired and stoked about the future of this field! Kudos to all the presenters and organizers for their great work 🤩
Very excited to send my first stress-y paper out into the world! Using behavior, fMRI, and pharmacology, we (@BlumeHarris, Nick Turk-Browne, Rajita Sinha, @ev_goldfarb, & I!) show how the stress-related hormone cortisol can *enhance* hippocampal function and memory.
