One upstream socket is shared by many browsers, and the server tunes how many per socket by watching how often the pool actually credits a share. One socket per visitor is how you earn a pool ban.

3/ The algorithm is RinHash: BLAKE3 → Argon2d (2 passes, 64 KiB) → SHA3-256.

Memory-hard, so ASICs don't make browsers pointless.

Measured, one thread: 13,635 H/s vs 888 H/s for MinotaurX. That 15× is the entire reason it's the one that ships.

2/ The miner is real. cpuminer-opt-rin compiled to WebAssembly with emscripten, running in a worker pool sized to hardwareConcurrency − 1.
