The forensic reality: far more complicated.

Professor Ivan Katchanovski of the University of Ottawa conducted the most extensive academic investigation - analyzing video evidence, forensic reports, witness testimony, and bullet trajectory analysis over a decade of research.

His conclusion: many of the fatal shots came from buildings controlled by the opposition - specifically the Hotel Ukraina and the Conservatory building, both behind and above the protesters. The man's alleged offense? Mocking militaristic slogans like "Glory to the UPA" and "Glory to the TRC (ТЦК)," and publicly speaking about Ukrainian soldiers with contempt.

Here's my question: since when is this considered an acceptable form of punishment in Ukraine?

Italy is leading a coalition of European countries to block a Franco-German initiative that would admit the Western Balkans into the EU with restricted sovereignty and limited institutional rights - effectively creating second-class membership.

Let’s be clear: once the principle of unequal membership is established, it will not stop with future members. Sooner or later, it could become a tool to weaken the position of smaller member states across the European Union.

Hungary has a vital national interest in opposing this proposal and standing with those defending the principle of equal membership.

Italy, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Greece, Slovakia and Slovenia have already taken a stand.
