@keefnotKeith@punk_alba@ionafyfe A dictionary? Google it & broaden your expectation, there's centuries of literature & an entire record of state, written in Scots. Make your own comparison between the likes of Chaucer & John Barbour, then tell us that it's all nationalist pish, with your own informed thesis.
@WYesscots@RexKwonDo_@scotlibdems I don't think anyone would dispute that constantly forcing traffic between dual & twin carriageway has proven to be poor for road safety.
@RexKwonDo_@scotlibdems Actually the A9 money was diverted in the 70's, hence the compromised build obsolete before its completion. If it had been done properly first time of asking we wouldn't be in the situation we find ourselves today. The trams debacle was just more salt in an old wound.
@theiaincameron Hail is common in spring. Driving through a tranquil glen when suddenly rounding a bend to be confronted with a 3" covering of hail on the road. Takes real presence of mind not to touch the brakes. We're in summer now but it's feeling more like mid April than mid June.
@NewsMurray I'd be going Air Lingus every time. By its very nature air travel can never be 100% reliable. However "reliable" isn't a phrase I could use in the same sentence as Ryan Air. Too many disappointments.
@das3108 Well done. My old pal Gunther would be so envious having always talked about doing the same, Aberdeen to Houston via much the same route. Alas, it wasn't to be. But should you sense the presence of a grumpy old German in the cockpit with you, his name's Gunther!
Safe travels
@crimpandclimbhq Neither, 2 days walk out for any kind of assistance. Also the climbing was quite runout in places so there's potentially serious outcomes from falling in the wrong place. Dangerous 8b climbing + remote location = serious spice.
@deablosantos@NickofMars1 Find your latitude & take a look at average weather for similar latitudes globally. I share a latitude with northern Labrador but enjoy a warmer climate because of the AMOC. If that slows enough 2ΒΊ global warming won't make Labradorian weather conditions any more palatable.
@TheGAAIA@FerretScot@MowiScotlandLtd Oil rigs floating or fixed have a half kilometre exclusion zone. All an operator has to do is apply for one & make their case. Therefore I'd say you need to change tactic, because as you're discovering the law is weighted in favour of Employers and the HS&W of staff.
@overlandertheb1 This is the same council that sold its kidneys for the remediation of Samson's Ribs, spent months lowering them off rib by rib. The rock steady crew would have had them tidied up in a couple of weeks. Here we are atop the Castle Corner Dornie, cMarch 84, camera almost got me ;)
@overlandertheb1 A continuously shedding instability, think washing out of marines on the R&BT if it rained non stop for 10 years. Generally, roads paths & rail, the greater hazards are the debris rather than falling material. You see a rockfall sign, don't look up, look ahead. See description 3
@thewoodlander1 We shouldn't be using wood fired power stations at all. But there is no way they're using 5,000 acres of woodland per day, that just isn't possible. 5,000 acres is around 2,203 hectares, lets call it 200 tonnes per hectare, which is a low yield, that'd be 404,600 tonnes a day!
