BREAKING: We have uncovered and now reveal how close to KSh 1 billion has been spent on Harambee House.
Yesterday, I came across a post by Naomi showing photos of Harambee House. Like we always do, we decided to dig deeper.
What we found is shocking.
In 2024, the Ruto government allocated about KSh 1 billion for the replacement of elevators at Harambee House.
Yet by 2025, reports showed the same elevators were already experiencing problems.
Now, according to the latest Controller of Budget report, over KSh 839 million (about 83%) had already been spent.
But that's not all.
You have all seen the photos of the leaking roof that have been trending.
Guess what?
In the 2025/26 financial year, the same government also allocated over KSh 25 million for minor repairs at Harambee House. And it's been getting millions every year.
So where did that money go?
For those who don't know, Harambee House falls under the Office of the President and the Executive. So you can guess where the money went.
And this is a common script. Have you ever asked yourself how and why there are always billions allocated every year for the renovation of the statehouse?
Anyway, it gets even more interesting.
The Auditor-General had already flagged issues relating to this building in an earlier audit, yet hundreds of millions have continued to be spent.
We are still analysing more documents, and what we've uncovered so far is only the beginning.
