Alexis Podesta — the longtime Democratic insider and Newsom appointee featured in the AI video of this post — is the woman who wore the FBI wire and is cooperating with investigators.

Podesta, a former top official under Jerry Brown and current board member of the State Compensation Insurance Fund, inherited Williamson’s client portfolio. She received payments from the account but stopped everything once she was told the transactions weren’t proper. Her attorney confirmed she has been fully cooperating and recorded conversations for federal investigators.
