@Markadiusz45 100%, plus yesterday strength in platinum and palladium. I also track the GLD/GDX chart. It closes below the 50d on Monday and then followed up with a 2nd close on Tuesday
SWING TRADE EXIT CRITERIA
Better to let a swing long run or sell into strength? There is always a trade-off between maximizing reward and pnl variance.
Awesome deep dive. James does the hard work that many traders need to do to properly backtest strategies.
His main conclusions:
1. Decide what is most important for you. Calm and consistency means selling earlier and more. Maximum growth means trailing and living with the give backs.
2. If you're an aspiring trader, follow the simple "sell half on day 5, move stop to breakeven, trail with the 10-day SMA". It was built a higher win rate, half the drawdown, and helping you survive while you learn.
3. Move the stop to breakeven after your first sale.
4. When the market regime turns bad, change your sizing and selection, not your sell rules.
5. Guard the monster. If a trade turns into one of the few that run, nothing about your exits matters more than not cutting it short.
6. Follow the rules until you're comfortable not to. The exit is not what will make or break you
@i_managed_risk interest rate sensitive sectors are down the most today with the US10Y hitting new 52-week high $ITB $ARKK $IWM $XBI It makes sense with software is getting hit too. Still higher low in $IGV $WCLD, that's strength
I usually want 3 days of cushion and ideally double digit cushion before the earning report so today was the last day to enter. I keep these on my focus list since you don't know when they'll break out with relative volume.
The lack of follow through on these names are telling of the day's price action
