For hundreds of years, Jews have been part of Scotland’s social fabric. Now many are asking whether it’s time to leave. Two in three British Jews no longer feel safe in the UK.

This is a total moral failure of both the Scottish and UK government. When Rabbis are saying “The Scottish government’s language is very inflammatory”, John Swinney and the SNP should reflect on why that is.

No one should fear walking the streets, sending their children to school, or celebrating their faith. Yet antisemitism is no longer hidden. It is shouted in marches designed to intimidate. Jews being attacked in the street, Chanukah celebrations held under guard and Scottish streets being renamed “Gaza Street”.

Protecting Jewish communities is the bare minimum. What Britain now needs is the courage to root out this poison before Jews are driven out of Scotland and our country altogether.
