@GovNedLamont Your budget is $15 billion higher (40% increase!) to when you came into office - at a time when CT’s population has been essentially flat. Where in the world is another $15 billion going governor? Who do you think will pay for this now that the COVID money has dried up?
Proud? The biennial budget when @GovNedLamont came into office in 2018 was $40 billion. Now it’s $55.5 billion! With all due respect, saying you are “proud” of raising spending by $15.5 billion is unconscionable.
I’m proud to share that we’ve reached an agreement with legislative leaders on a biennium budget – one that makes smart investments in our future, our communities and schools, all while prioritizing affordability, holding the line on taxes, and keeping us on a sound fiscal path.
Gov’s new budget is $55 billion. To put that into perspective, if you were to spend $1.0 million every single day, it would take you over 150 years to spend $55 billion. Have we lost our minds?
A great night for CT Republican candidates in Madison. If you are tired of runaway inflation, out of control crime and unaffordable housing, then vote for change in November. If you aren’t willing to get involved, then stop complaining. It really is up to you!
Out of NJ! How long before Ørsted exits the CT offshore wind deal? - despite what they “promise” now. We should get ahead of this and salvage whatever we can for CT residents who are footing the bill for hundreds of millions in cost overruns.

The loss of any life in police altercations is tragic and needs to be investigated. But to list out every victim without even a mention of Officers Demonte, Hamzy and Garten who lost their lives keeping us safe is unconscionable. Shame on you @insidercts/https://t.co/0chwzSeUOg
A “partnership” with Eversource and Orsted to cost CT residents $93 million, now over $300 million! Who takes THE ENTIRE overrun? You guessed it-CT taxpayers! Don’t let the loan from our “partners” fool you - its a sham, they get it paid back - we don’t. https://t.co/yQxf9WceYI
These past few months have been a wonderful experience, and we hope to continue working together for a stronger, safer and more affordable Connecticut.
