Nobody talks about this enough:
For many parents, recruiting is the first time they realize they can't solve the problem for their child.
You can pay for camps.
Pay for training.
Drive them everywhere.
But eventually a coach has to decide.
And that's a hard pill to swallow for some.
One of the hardest lessons in recruiting:
Interest is not an offer.
A camp invite isn't an offer.
A follow isn't an offer.
A like isn't an offer.
A DM isn't an offer.
Athletes and parents get emotionally attached to signals that may mean very little.
Stay humble.
Stay realistic.
Stay working.
Until it's in writing, keep grinding.
Parents:
One of the biggest mistakes in recruiting is comparing your athlete’s timeline to someone else’s.
Different positions.
Different schools.
Different paths.
Just because another athlete gets an offer today doesn’t mean your athlete is behind.
Comparison is the thief of recruiting joy.

While looking back through old files to find a call sheet this morning, I found this text from one of my QB's @BradYoung2020 after a heartbreaking loss a few years. This is what it's all about man.
