They took her away in handcuffs. Her two young daughters watched from the window.
August 29, 2019. Occupied Novoazovsk.
russia abducted Svitlana Holovan, leaving her two daughters — just 11 and 5 — without their mother.
Five months alone in a dark, damp cell. Interrogations. Threats of electric shocks. Threats against her children.
She later recalled her torturer breaking her arms and threatening her with sexual violence.
Six years in captivity.
Svitlana was finally released in August 2025.
This is what russian occupation looked like long before February 2022.
It began in 2014.
On behalf of Ukraine, I extend my condolences to the Royal House of Norway and the people of Norway on the passing of His Majesty King Harald V.
His Majesty embodied dignity, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to his country. Ukraine will always remember his steadfast support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people during the darkest days of Russia’s aggression.
Our thoughts are with the Royal Family and the people of Norway at this time of profound sorrow.
May His Majesty’s memory be eternal.
Another Ukrainian city is being wiped out right now while the world looks away
Here’s what’s happening in Kramatorsk:
• Glide bombs & FPVs pound the city to make them unliveable.
• Civilians evacuated every day but not everyone is leaving.
• I spent the night with power station workers risking their lives to keep the lights on. Every shift is their own ‘fuck you’ to Russia.
• The war started here in 2014 & locals spent a decade fighting for their freedom - they wont give up without a fight.
• This region isn't some industrial backwater, it's a beautiful landscape with a rich, vibrant history.
• And the difficult truth: Russia is still advancing. Slowly, brutally, but advancing.
It’s uncomfortable to say. But it’s true. Pretending otherwise doesn’t help Ukraine.
If the world stops watching because it thinks Russia is losing, Russia gets exactly what it needs: time.
This is what’s happening in Donbas right now.

@The_Real_ITDUDE GTA6 will be amazing, but I’ll take a Ukraine victory and Trump defeat every fucking time.
If it also ends Putin and Netanyahu, I could give up video games for life 🥳
Some clips don’t age. They wait for you.
In 1970, Dolly Parton stood beside Stella and Cassie on The Porter Wagoner Show and sang “Break My Mind.”
Their mama and grandpa are sitting right there in the audience, watching it happen.
No autotune. No overproduction. Just family, music, and a moment that feels almost impossible to recreate today.
Is this the best sibling harmony ever captured on TV or does it only hit this hard now?
Americans, this is your assignment. You vote even if a gun is pointed at your head. You vote like your kids are being kidnapped. You vote like the ICE is knocking on your door. You vote like your grandad going to be kicked out of the nursing home. Please vote to clean this shit.
Trump has literally done nothing this entire second term except rename things for no reason, enrich himself & his Epstein pals, get us into a war he’s too stupid to get out of, and spend our money on shitty renovations nobody asked for. That’s literally it. Pathetic.
Ukraine has lost a pioneer.
Lt. Col. Tetiana Kucheriava, who in 2015 became the first woman in independent Ukraine to serve as a T-64B tank driver-mechanic, has died after nine months battling cancer.
She made history at just 28.
A soldier. A mother. A wife.
Rest in honor, Tetiana.
FROM A NORWEGIAN POINT OF VIEW IT SEEMS LIKE EVERY REPUBLICAN IS A DERANGED FAKE RELIGIOUS LUNATIC WHO IS TRYING TO DEMOLISH EVERYTHING THAT MADE AMERICA GREAT 🤔
My 7-year-old daughter heard me say that Dolly Parton died, and got visibly very sad. I was surprised she even knew that name.
“You know Dolly Parton?”
In the sweetest timid voice, she replied:
“Well, I don’t _know_ know her. But she sent me books.”
🥹😢😭
The occupiers spent the day showing us all why there is a red stripe on the 🇷🇺 russian flag.
The streets of Kherson are now soaked with civilian blood as they killed even more children and elderly who were just going about their day.
russians kill them for fun, a human safari.
A judge dismissed a lawsuit from a civilian engineer after it was determined that her report of being raped in her bed aboard a Navy transport ship was within her duties and must be treated as a worker's comp claim. (from @Rose_Lori) https://t.co/wYiyEQj1ga
