I don't think it's that hard to add balance checks against the on-chain wallet so it doesn't try to transfer everything that still shows up in the app. Then users wouldn't have problems with the upgrade.

It moves NFTs from Press A to the new wallet that were burned a long time ago, but they still show up on the old wallet - there's no way to fix this. Why even invent such upgrades? An ordinary user will never figure this out.
