@MrDanielBuck Agreed! We fail if we don't introduce students to basic academic stress to push growth.
Romans 5:3: "But we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame.
Hey @CityofDenver and @xcelenergy who thought it was a good idea to have the gingerbread man climbing a cross in the Christmas parade? (Yes I know it’s a power line but you know what it looks like) #denver#Christmasparade
If you think this is bad look up a company called EverDriven they rebranded from ALC. Basically a car service for students with special needs to get to and from school. Unsafe cars, language barriers, wrong driver, multiple adults in the car at pickup and drop off, it’s really scary that this is allowed to happen with our most vulnerable populations.
Interesting read! Amish are among the happiest people in the U.S.A./World, & have lower rates of chronic disease. Their take on tech is often misrepresented. What can we learn from this/how can schools respond to this?

This is a great article. Social skills are being stunted at a young age. This benefits big tech and keeps us addicted. Mental health destroyed and we allow it.
Kids Are Getting Worse at Making Eye Contact. Here's Why https://t.co/vesKJCVBMs
@MrDanielBuck These comments are interesting. Educators want respect & don’t want to teach/reaffirm respectful behavior. Yes cultures interpret this differently but we are preparing kids for post school life. We fail kids if we fail to teach them how to interact in a professional environment.
GYO programs, like in this article, are a great theory. However, pay, burnout, and community support need to be addressed first. Kids see this, and the field doesn't look attractive to most of them as a result.

Cell phone policies in school are necessary. They are tools & huge distractions on multiple levels. I have used Yonde pouches & they worked well. We should help students disconnect from devices / reconnect with the physical world.

@drphd2k7@MIT_Spectrum@eklopfer I remember teachers telling me “you won’t be able to have a calculator on you for the rest of your life.” This seems like Ai is heading in the same direction. My question is how can we use the tech and still create original thinkers and creative learners?
@MrDanielBuck It’s definitely a good question that I don’t really have an answer to. My question is how can we adapt to the technology since it’s not going away anytime soon? I know it’s a rabbit hole but I’m genuinely curious.
Food for thought. @GovofCO@jaredpolis Bring a current professional in the field of education from the state of Colorado along for the ride as an advisor. We are the "boots on the ground" professionals and can support you in this role.
