One of man's deepest desires is not to be a burden on anyone and to earn his way. Burdening others brings him shame. He aspires to self-sufficiency so he can be one that gives rather than takes. He does not pursue independence out of vanity, he covets self-reliance out of honour.
All it takes is a single trip, a one-off conversation, a sudden epiphany while on a walk, a particular passage at just the right moment, or a blessing disguised as uprooting disaster to rekindle your zeal for life and set your heart ablaze
Do not let people gaslight you into thinking that duality does not exist. You can be grateful and annoyed. You can want more and be grateful for what you have. You can be angry and frustrated and still be grateful. A lot of religious and spiritual gaslighting out here.
i love when you read a book and you become so emotionally invested in it, and when you walk around public places after reading it you feel like you’re in this bubble by yourself, like you’re so deeply inside your mind you’re actually out of touch with reality.
I think one of the healthiest things a person can do is become easy to delight. To still stop for weird clouds and dogs wearing bandanas and the smell of garlic cooking somewhere down the street. The world already has enough cynicism. Be the person who still points at the moon.
what a privilege is it is to afford a gym, buy healthy food, pay bills, have legs that walk, eyes that see, a brain that functions, work every day, and take our bodies to their full potential.
May you be protected from the eyes that secretly envy your growth. May your path be cleared of hidden grudges, silent rivalries, and veiled ill intentions. May every blessing reach you untouched, and may every victory multiply peacefully.
“Why are we afraid of the first time? Every day in life is a first time. Every morning is new. We never live the same day twice. We're never afraid of getting up every morning. Why?”
I keep thinking about how Jung argued in Answer to Job that the apostle John was the only one who could have written the Book of Revelation. Jung believed that John’s extremely one-sided understanding of God—his insistence that God is pure love—created such a psychological imbalance that the unconscious had to respond. This response took the form of enantiodromia: the violent, wrathful apocalyptic visions in Revelation erupted as the necessary opposition to John’s conscious theology.
lately, i've noticed everybody looks fine until you have a deep conversation with them. and then, you'll realize that this is a sad generation of people struggling to survive through smiling faces and pretty pictures.
You need to be slowmaxxing. You need to be reading long, fat books. You need to be making 48-hour chocolate chip cookies. You need to spend hours watching wildlife, you need to spend 15+ min making your coffee. You need to breathe in and breathe out. You need to be slowwwwwwwwww.
