@Cayde53378193@TKatt187@Ofromda404 They are a waste of plastic, energy, and money. Just more crap to end up in a land fill one day, when the installation files could have easily be attained over the internet instead of using a disc to get it from the developer to the player. It's why PC gamers stopped.
@Cayde53378193@TKatt187@Ofromda404 How does what I said equate to handing a monopoly to Sony? Most game sales whether it be PC or Console are downloaded, that's why Sony was willing to make this move. Disks as a medium for installation files are redundant with modern internet, and TB+ storage.
@otecoy_tweets@kappapsi1919@SeyKay18 True. Although I'm tired of the concept of "physical media," as if disks are an analog storage medium. They are no more "physical," than my portable SSD is "physical." Both are just digital storage systems, for some reason console players think it means they "own" it more.
@kappapsi1919@otecoy_tweets@SeyKay18 Not everything on PC is Steam dude, also I've litearlly never in my life heard of anyone violating Steam TOS and losing their entire library.
Also I'm talking about the fact on PC you can download cracked games and ROMs, and no company like PS or Xbox can ever take them.
@yungkratom@Xlmallia@laeaz43s Good shit bro π€, happy to hear that. I've been where you were at with the synth opiates, shit cooked my life for a while but I got on subs and completely changed my life around. Stay strong brother!
@ansixxxe@Gvpsv1@WarzoneAlerts Lmao this possibly has to be one of the stupidest insults I've ever heard. You really couldn't come up with anything better bro? Maybe you should think about it for 9 months and come back to me, as that seems to be the amount of time you think someone needs to come up with shit.
@villdoc@RinoTheBouncer This.
As a PC gamer I find this obsession with disks so stupid, we stopped using disks almost 15+ years ago on PC, because they are not necessary when we have internet speeds to transfer installation files easily. It's a waste of plastic and energy.
@Doom_Scrollers@RinoTheBouncer Disks have a very long shelf-compared to tapes or records.... they are used by companies for long-term cold file storage.
But I think the obsession over games being released on disks is silly, it's doesn't mean you "own" the game more. PC gamers stopped using disks 15 years ago
@legendkiller2k8 There's no such thing as "physical" games buddy, a disk is a DIGITAL file storage format, it's no more "physical," than me having games stored on an SSD I can walk around with is "physical." It's like me putting my SSD in a plastic box with fancy art and saying it's not digital.
@Shadxdu@gtasixy@AnassRedDead The fact that console players are so stuck in the past they think that owning DIGITAL installation files on a disk (a DIGITAL file storage format) in a fancy plastic box; means they "own" a "physical" copy, as if disks are analog or something lol.
@Shadxdu@gtasixy@AnassRedDead Lmao that's the most retarded take in the world.... PC players are able to own their games more than any console player. A PC gamer can litearlly download the installation files or roms of any game they want and store them on their SSD, and Sony can't ever revoke them.
@Dagon89707028@gtasixy@AnassRedDead Dude they will release it on disk eventually, they want that extra money.
Also why do you care about owning installation files on a disk in a plastic box with some fancy art? Just buy a plastic PS5 box and print off the art yourself if you want a 'relic."
@FrankingWest@gtasixy@AnassRedDead Lol they 100% will release the game on disk, they just are going to wait till after release. The reason they didn't do a disk release is cause they were worried about leaks. Why would they not? It's more money for them, and that's all they care about.
@LylaPlazaYT@no9icasso@AnassRedDead@gtasixy This. So many console players are stuck in 2010 attached to disks, owning installation files (or a portion of them) on a disk does not mean you "own" the game anymore than someone with them on an SSD.
@no9icasso@LylaPlazaYT@AnassRedDead@gtasixy RDR2 required 2 discs to install it, GTA 6 is probably twice or three times the size. Most new large games don't have all the installtion files on the disc, you download the rest. Anyone who thinks discs mean you "own" the game more is tech illiterate.
@AnassRedDead@gtasixy Buddy owning a portion of the games installation files on a disc does not mean you "own" the game anymore than someone that downloaded them fully. It's not about ownership, it's about money. Also I'm sure they will release a physical copy a month or two after release, more money.
@Emperor_Maker@Clappa1x@DAKKADAKKA1 That's not true, a dev build made for the PS or Xbox OS would not work on a PC. Just like you can't install a PS5 game disc and play it on your PC.
