Your citizenship really determines so much for you. As a Nigerian, your matter long ooo.
I had a Saudi classmate when I was fling my Masters. He explained to me that all Saudis in the UK were fully sponsored by the government. I asked what his plan was after school, he said he was going back home to take up a job. He didn't even like the UK. I don't blame him, he struggled with the language and culture.
I had Korean classmates (those ones are always rich and clean). No one was staying back or had plan to.
I saw Chinese classmate 2 years later. He had started a business with his babe. He told me the government encourages them to take loan to invest abroad. I thought we were just having a discussion. I didn't know he had his plan mapped out.
My Spanish friend (the only one I still talk to), I asked him when he was going to pick up his British passport since he was eligible for it having been in UK for many years, he said he didnt need it that his passport takes him where he needs to go. I spoke to him recently and he said he is looking to leave the UK soon. He wants to return home to Barcelona. That reminds me, he has been inviting me to Barcelona 🤦♂️
At the start of Covid, my Canadain flatmate packed his bag and left. He told me he would finish his program from there. I once asked how he was paying for his program (Law Undergraduate), he said he took a loan from the bank in Canada.
Then you look at Nigerians- we are always looking for how to stay back at all cost because home offers nothing. Conversation always centred around sponsorship jobs - even if it is care job. This is after working 12 hours shift through out your Masters to pay for your fees and cover for your living expenses. People are even so desperate, they are paying 10k to 12k for sponsorship job just to stay back.
@twitgameboy It's the first half of 2026, I believe when I come back to this in the first half of 2027 i will be in a much better place than I am right now and it will be such a bliss to look back and be thankful for how far I have come.
If you can see this tweet, please know that your social media pressure is important.
Terrible news and the horrible state of governance can be depressing but please don't get tired of speaking up.
On here, we are truly the 4th arm of the government.
Online pressure works.
Since my car accident, I have been trying to bounce back selling art full time. I suffered a fractured spine after nearly losing my life. I appreciate any support I get
I have one piece to share.
I hope all these TL conversations do not poison your heart.
I hope you're not training your mindspace to start choosing partners from a place of fear, or lowered likelihood to cheat. Ask Israel Juju.
These are faulty compasses.
Churchgoers cheat. Atheists cheat. Hijab wielders cheat.
Virgins cheat. Adelebos cheat. 20s cheat. 30s cheat. 40s cheat.
I hope the factors that calibrate your values, are not from Twitter thinkpieces but are strengthened offline. Else, you will end up as a box of ruin.
My safest predicators for relationships are:
- brackets,
- reciprocity.
If you're doing well financially, box within potentials like you doing well financially. Don't be a 7fig earning techie & you'll be hunting smallies struggling with 200L carryover in Laspotech.
Mental brackets. Intellectual brackets. Financial brackets. Exposure brackets.
One of my theories as to why, people (read men) scale way below these brackets is because they're scripting scenarios for control. They're hunting "bendable" women. Chief, she won't be naive forever - but I'll expand on this, some other time.
Be big on reciprocity. As you're doing for your partner in the early weeks, if they like you they would be doing as much.
Using the filters of brackets and reciprocity, are safer predicators than fear and paranoia.
This is the sad part of life. If you don’t win financially, the conclusion is that you did not make the right decisions to make your life easy, which means you will not be deemed wise or sensible enough to contribute on issues. Things you say will even be dismissed and trivialized because if you know so much, why aren’t you financially successful? This is the general perception.
In fact, one of the reasons people on here have tried to shut me up is because they believe I am not supposed to have an opinion since I haven’t attained financial success. This is the same reason why some people think my decision to play football is foolish - they aren’t seeing me living a certain lifestyle, so yes, it is a wrong decision. But then, a genius is deemed foolish until success.
One of the things I am grateful for is that I have outgrown the general mentality and realized that attaining financial success is just that; it does not automatically make someone wise or good.
Financial success or not, a good person is a good person, a wise person is a wise person, a bad person is a bad person, and a fool is a fool.

Post NYSC, when I was struggling in the dirt of dirts. 20K teaching job with 3 tutorial hustles.
I would come back every evening, wear my nicest shirt and walk into a car shop - pockets empty.
"I like the rims on this one, do you have the color in black?"
"Hmmm. The price isn't bad. Can I see the BMW equivalent?"
I'd do this from car shop to car shop. Not because I wanted to waste their time, swimming in delusion or had nothing better to do with my time but I understood the power of visualization.
Sportsmen use it all the time.
You see bah, you stay long in a particular situation - your system starts to normalize it. You start to figure out how to "manage".
" 20K salary abi. Well, if I see like 50K own. I'll just try and walk 2km instead of entering bus"
This is worse than comfort zone because there's no iota of comfort and you're slowly conditioning yourself to optimize it as your new normal.
You need to find ways to put fire in your bosom. To make your dreams nightmares, and your living daylight daydreams. Visualization helps you to see what is possible.
It doesn't have to be with cars, but it has to be with variables incredibly beyond your reach at the moment.
You'll never be big. You'll never grow. You'll never breakforth - if your mind hasn't first conceived the possibility of that future.
Don't let your mind condition what's supposed to be a bus stop for you, become a final destination.
