Nigeria is not finished because there was a power outage at Murtala Muhammed International Airport for three minutes. It is your anti-Nigerian bias that makes you think so. Please fact-check me. There was a power outage at Heathrow Airport on Thursday, January 5, 2023. The blackout lasted far longer than it did at MMIA. Remember, Heathrow is the busiest airport in Europe. Yet, British citizens were not all over social media de-marketing their country and telling anyone who cares to listen that The UK is finished.
Mind you, that was not the first time there was an outage at Heathrow. The attached photo is from another power cut on Monday, March 27, 2017. Again, please fact-check me.
Two months ago, on Thursday, December 7, 2023, there was a power outage on the London Underground that lasted hours. Passengers were trapped in trains under London. They could not get out. Yet, Londoners did not tear down their city with vicious hate filled words on X and Facebook.
Two weeks ago, Nigeria's Stock Exchange overtook Argentina's as the world's most profitable. How come these sets of influencers and media did not carry it? A foreign media carried the story. It got almost no traction in Nigeria. Because it was not bad news!
Electricity supply is a human creation, and as such, it can suffer hiccups. When it happens in sensitive national infrastructure, like airports, it is regrettable. However, it should be outsiders that use it against us, not we using it against ourselves. You can hate Nigerian leaders. You can hate Tinubu. But when you hate Nigeria because you hate Tinubu, you are like a man who hates himself because he hates his parents.

Why does World of Statistics want to give Arise Peoples Party sleepless nights by proving that, even with subsidy removal, Nigeria still has one of the lower fuel prices on Earth?

Do you see what I have been telling you? Because they take their profit out of Nigeria, MTN and Airtel recorded foreign exchange losses due to the floating of the Naira. But Glo has posted no such loss because their profits stay here, circulating in Nigeria and stabilising the Naira.
Because of the lies you are hearing from Arise Peoples Party, you attack Tinubu for the devaluation of the Naira. But let this headline teach you a lesson. 136 million Nigerians spend $20 million daily on MTN and Airtel. MTN and Airtel ferry that money to South Africa and India, putting downward pressure on the Naira. The Naira is now floated. It is our consumption habits that affect the value of the Naira.
If you want the Naira to rise, destroy your MTN and Airtel SIM and get a Glo SIM. Start spending the $20 million you spend daily on MTN and Airtel on Glo, and Naira will shoot up immediately! But if you want Arise to be happy that the Naira is falling, keep spending your $20 million daily to make South Africa and India's economy greater at Nigeria's expense!

I will counsel the Tinubu administration to look inward rather than outward to cushion the impact of subsidy removal. Summon Chief Innocent Chukwuma to Aso Rock, along with your Economic Management Team. Ask him what he needs to start manufacturing inexpensive vehicles that run on compressed natural gas (CNG). Then give him the money on a zero-interest basis so that he can start churning out cars and buses for Nigerians.
The loan will be interest-free on the condition that he will, in turn, grant Nigerians low-interest hire purchase options to buy his vehicles.
Once we have a million CNG vehicles on our roads, especially if they are made in Nigeria, the national demand for petrol will drop dramatically, and there won't be the need for subsidy because Nigeria is entirely self-sufficient in natural gas and can provide it for citizens at next to nothing.
Imagine 60 million Nigerians dependent on made-in-Nigeria IVM cars powered by made-in-Nigeria CNG, using Glo mobile to make our calls, and Dangote and Ibeto cement to build our houses, and buying made-in-Nigeria food and beverage from Next Cash and Carry instead of Shoprite. If we take these actions, the Naira will immediately rise in value because more of our capital will circulate in our country rather than flying to Europe, America and Asia.
We need creative solutions like this. And these are some of the ideas that the Nigerian Labour Congress leadership should be coming up with rather than resorting to protests when Nigeria is facing an existential crisis in Niger Republic that can destabilise our country and region.

As I assume office today, I reminisce on the burden we carry in the pursuit of public service. To underscore the weight of the moment I decided to wear priceless gifts from those who’ve shaped my life:
Fuel Subsidy GONE
EFCC's Bawa GONE
NLC strike threat GONE
Multiple Exchange Rates GONE
Fuel queue/ GONE
Slow pace of governance GONE
And you want me to attack the man who achieved this in just two weeks? I think I have to clarify my stance and stand. I am an opposition politician. That means I oppose the party in power and offer a better alternative when they do wrong. And I will do everything possible to ensure Waziri Atiku Abubakar gets the redress he seeks at the Presidential Election Petition Court. However, I am very much not a secessionist agitator hiding under political activism to undermine Nigeria. I love Nigeria, and I want her to succeed. And for that, I have no apologies.
