Politics aside. We have to acknowledge Anwar's prowess in steering the country into a relatively success story. For now, I don't see any capable leader who is capable to replace him. I see nothing in Zahid Hamidi and mullah Hadi's PAS, Corrupt Zahid is totally incompetent. PAS will take the country to the Stone Age.

MY REPLY:

I agree with one thing: I don't see Zahid Hamidi or Hadi Awang as the answer either. Corruption, religious extremism, and race-based politics have held Malaysia back for decades.

But I disagree that this means Anwar is the only option. That's a false dilemma. Democracy only works when we stop believing there is no alternative.

If we keep voting for the "least bad" candidate out of fear, we will never create space for competent, principled new leaders to emerge. Every generation of leaders was once "new" until people gave them a chance.

Parliament needs fresh faces—people with integrity, competence, courage, and independent minds. Leaders who are not beholden to party warlords, political dynasties, or coalition survival.

The real question shouldn't be, "Who can replace Anwar today?" It should be, "How do we build a political system where capable Malaysians are given the opportunity to lead?"

We've become conditioned to think our only choices are BN, PH, or PAS. That mindset is exactly why the political establishment remains comfortable. New parties, independents, and credible professionals deserve serious consideration too.

A mature democracy is not about finding one indispensable leader. It is about building institutions and constantly renewing leadership. No one should be considered irreplaceable—not Anwar, not Zahid, not Hadi, not anyone else.

If Malaysians truly want better governance, we must stop asking which old politician should remain in power and start asking who among the next generation has the integrity and competence to serve the country.
