@awhspeed @ndchiappini The isomer shown is the pseudo-para isomer, which is indeed a chiral by virtue of an inversion point. Resolution of the acid or aldehyde are common ways to obtain enantiomerically pure material. Check out Stefan Braese’s recent work.

@awhspeed I prefer the first way. I have never been a fan of reading the big points in the abstract and then being told them again at the end of the introduction. The repetition seems like a waste of time. Having a story doesn’t necessarily imply that it is long-winded. My two bits.
