Before 1979 — before the occupation by religious nutcase mullahs like ⁣⁣⁣𝗥𝘂𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 𝗞𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗶⁣⁣⁣ — ⁣⁣⁣𝗜𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆⁣⁣⁣.

It’s hard for people today to even imagine it, but Iran wasn’t run like a theocracy.
It looked, functioned, and lived like a ⁣⁣⁣𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻⁣⁣⁣.
And if you look at old photos of Iran — or Lebanon, or Afghanistan, or Egypt — you wouldn’t even clock them as “Muslim countries” the way they’re portrayed now. Pictured below is an image of Iranian women in the mid-1970s.

Then came 1979.
Then came the ⁣⁣⁣𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲⁣⁣⁣.

A fundamentalist regime seized the country, crushed dissent, imposed Sharia law, and turned Iran into a ⁣⁣⁣𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺⁣⁣⁣ by the mid-1980s — exporting hatred across the Middle East and beyond.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣
Now something extraordinary may finally be happening.

If the Iranian people manage to lift this yoke of oppression off their backs, the world will breathe a ⁣⁣⁣𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳⁣⁣⁣.

The Middle East wouldn’t just shift — it would flip ⁣⁣⁣𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟭𝟴𝟬 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀⁣⁣⁣.

The collapse of the Iranian regime wouldn’t just free Iranians.
