@byeliseam These are important perspectives because they prove the point of history itself. The more we keep looking, changing our angles, geography, and source materials, the more we understand the past.
@agordonreed Exactly! I keep saying this. And there is definitely some benefit to alumni kids to have their parents’ help in navigating a particular college’s system. Why shouldn’t first gen students and SOC also be able to build this kind of cultural capital?
@PlatypusJenny@kevinbaker Daniel Burnham made Chicago’s shore the focal point and allowed for the lake front parks. New York’s waterfront is harder to see in some locations. Also with NJ, Brooklyn etc. one sees land rather than uninterrupted water.
@csschmitt1 Backwards design your work as if you were designing a course. I had to finish 16,000 words this summer in order to stay on track to finish my book (my 7th—I have been doing this awhile). I stay on campus a few extra hours as many days as I can and write.
