Everyone asks wen airdrop but few ask what happens after airdrop

Crowds who farmed Blur and Friend Tech are at massive losses, with Machi, one of the largest Blur farmers, sitting on well over 5,000 ETH in losses

After airdrop, is the goal for users to make profits, which seems for many highly unlikely, or is the goal at this point just to “make it all back”?

What will happen if a lot of the users are still in the red even after the airdrops?

Will they sell and rotate profits elsewhere in Web3? Will they sell and off-ramp their holdings? Will they sell and farm something else?

Nowhere in these questions is: will they hold and help the protocol in which they farmed?

It is hard to imagine a scenario where Friend Tech farmers sell their airdrop and use the capital to buy more keys, or hold their tokens and transition into Friend Tech creators long-term

Not that that couldn’t happen, but my guess is that a small minority will choose this path

And with good reason. Time and time again we learn that we should have just sold and moved on

Likewise, with Blur, it is hard to imagine a scenario where users hold their tokens and continue using the platform unless there is a Season 3 (lord help us), or other rewards become built into holding

Again, neither path seems sustainable, though I will be interested to see what happens, as all teams of the active airdrop platforms across NFTs and SocialFi have to know that these hypothetical scenarios exist and are actively planning accordingly

As you can see, more questions than answers were posed in this post, but they are questions in my mind worth exploring

If these questions are not explored and answered creatively, the same problems will continue to pop up again and again
