To be honest, my biggest prayer for 2026 is for ease. I don’t have the energy to struggle, and I don’t want to have to, not for a relationship, not for a job, not for money, not for anything.
Please, God, make the whole year soft.
THREAD: Non-traditional career paths
with an LLB (SA)
The LLB opens doors far beyond the courtroom, but it is worth noting that admission will put you at an advantage whether in practise or not .
Here are career paths I think are not spoken about enough:
1. Forensics & Investigations
In the legal world, forensics involves investigating financial or organisational wrongdoing using legal, analytical, and investigative skills.
So this is what you'll be doing as a forensic practitioner
Investigate fraud, corruption, financial trails
Draft forensic reports, support cyber & anti-crime units
You can do this with just an LLB, however you can enroll for a graduate diploma diploma in forensics at UP/ UNISA or write 4 of the forensic short courses offered by NWU (each now being R12200)which are equivalent to board exams upon which completing you can be registered as a forensic practitioner (FP/SA) with Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
What is ACFE ?
It is the world's largest anti-fraud organisation, and it offers the globally recognised credential CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner)
With forensic skills, you can work in:
Forensic investigation firms
Audit & accounting firms (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, KPMG forensic units)
Banks & insurance companies
Corporate internal investigation teams
Anti-corruption bodies
State-owned enterprises
Cybersecurity and risk units
Private investigation agencie
Life is so much better when you have information to make well informed and correct decisions. Things can be tricky when you make a decision with a limited pool of information. Thank God for people who do not gate keep information and make it a habit for others to soar as well.
God bless our attempts. May we see the fruits of our labour. Enter us into the season of reaping all we’ve been harvesting. Less struggles and more wins. A blessed Quarter 2 please we have suffered enough from Jan.
