@david_j_roth @drewmagary @DistractPod you are driving in rural Maine and come to a fork in the road presented with only these two options, which do you choose? Which leads to a place more up its own ass?
@ebajek85 @WJXTvic You’re forgetting to give SCOTUS credit for not only giving them the go ahead to open the floodgates, but also preventing any blue states/cities from trying to stem the flow…
@ebajek85 It’s because the ‘scandal du jour’ doesn’t actually matter nor does hypocrisy. Instead they point to the number of ‘things happening’ as a surrogate that things are bad. My question is what would have been the ‘scandal’ if that hadn’t happened to distract from the jobs report.
@sharpshotBRob@stpatrickff Looked at total games played in the history of each sport. 60+ point games are roughly equivalent to throwing for 7 TDs in an nfl game, which has happened 8 times.
@sharpshotBRob@stpatrickff 80 games of 60+ points
339 cycles
499 3+ HR games
63 5+ hockey goals in a game
At least 200 instances of 3+ receiving TDs in a game and 64 instances of 4+ rushing TDs in a game.
Given difference in games played and seasons, order would be:
60+
5+
Cycl
3+ HR
Gap
4+ rush
3+ rec
@ebajek85 3) Get senior directors and even C suite level folks to start calling their status fliers, offering them a choice from a menu of perks
They can also look at what Spirit Airlines did when they had a similar screw up
@ebajek85 Start by admitting the screw up, promise to do better, and invite DOT in to investigate. Radical transparency.
They could then also:
1) Offer cash refunds for canceled flight or double the amount in southwest credit.
2) No questions asked checks for people to replace luggage
@ebajek85 House should expand such that there is better representation as it is. Even with a narrow majority, the bulk of days will see at least 10 reps not actually in the chamber. That’s actually made the last 2 years so impressive with the narrow margin they had.
@ebajek85 There was always going to be ‘A’ reason to blame. Just go back to “16 when Trump said “we’ll see” on if he would accept the results of the election. That led to finding any and all absurd reasons and will lead to needless restrictions on voting that only serve to disenfranchise.
@ebajek85 Yes it still would have happened. There were rampant claims of in person voting machines switching votes after all.
More blame should go to states that have laws preventing counting mail in ballots until Election Day as a bigger problem than people sending in their ballots later
@ebajek85 Some (not all) reasons:
Part of the return process is not controlled by the voter instead USPS, so being postmarked on Election Day seems reasonable.
Why should absentee or vote by mail folks not be able to wait and get all the information someone voting day of would get?
