I am saddened that these things are happening more often.
“We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.”
There is nothing more insidious and vile than the justification of gradual decline in societal protection of family values and human dignity.
Excuses cannot change reality. Those who try to justify abortion are as despicable and evil as Frollo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame, who would throw a baby down a well simply because he thought it was too ugly to deserve life.
And yet we see the exact opposite from Gandalf when he talks about Gollum:
“Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.”
If you’re going to speak condescendingly of an infertility treatment and those who use it, at least have the conviction to actually defend your position instead of tossing legitimate responses you don’t like aside like gutter trash.
A. Biological conception is the beginning of human life
B. Ending innocent human life is wrong
C. Therefore, ending the life of an embryo is wrong
and granting that,
A. Ending the life of an embryo is wrong
B. IVF ends the lives of many embryos
C. Therefore IVF is wrong
What, that you use dehumanizing language in the same way some of the worst people who have ever lived used it to commit genocide against people they didn’t think were worthy of life?
Whether you change your mind or not, you should question what makes people monsters and what makes them truly human. Would you throw a baby down a well because it was ugly?
This line of thinking could justify killing a child that suffers from leukemia or batten’s disease. And that’s assuming the test that detected Down syndrome was correct.
Brian probably thinks Thanos was the real hero in the Avengers…
Life comes with challenges. Life involves overcoming adversity. Life cannot exist without risk.
And using terms like “fetus” to try and justify these actions is no different from how bad people throughout history have used language to dehumanize the people they were willing to commit genocide on.
YouTuber Jesse Ridgway and his wife decided to abort their fetus after discovering Down syndrome.
Taking care of someone with down syndrome is a lifetime commitment. These parents would likely grow old, possibly into their 80s, having to take care of their child.
They have every right to make this decision.
My wife and I have struggled with infertility for over 7 years. Yet people will make excuses to end a pregnancy they deem “too hard” or “for legitimate reasons.” Just go ahead and say “They’re too afraid” because that’s what it really comes down to. What, should we kill a child suffering from cancer because it’s “too hard to take care of them”?
And don’t tell me to “just adopt” because we’ve tried that already.
1 in 6 couples worldwide struggle with infertility, yet so many try to justify the ending of a life out of convenience or fear.
“True courage is about knowing not when to take a life, but when to spare one.”
“Forcing” they CHOSE to get pregnant you dunderhead. 1 in 6 couples globally face infertility yet you actively encourage selectively “eliminating” kids based on your arbitrary beliefs of what is challenging. Adoption is extremely challenging, but I doubt you would know that. You’d rather people kill babies than increase opportunities for couples to have children.
I’m sorry it’s “too hard” to raise children with medical needs. I guess you’d rather terminate kids with cancer too since it’s “too hard”.
That people who speak to us as holier-than-thou hypocrites with beams in their eyes consistently tell us we’re going to hell as though they’ve taken the authority of Christ upon themselves to be arbiters of salvation? Yeah, it’s typical we deal with people like you all the time. For all your claims of Christ, you sure seem to turn a blind eye to what He taught.
