When someone teaches me something or does something for me without expecting anything in return, I make an effort to never forget
The seed of their kindness forever planted in my heart
Too many people restrain their potential in the name of family
You can have a hunger for greatness and still have time & respect for your loved ones
You’ll have to sacrifice some but never all
If they truly are your loved ones, your sacrifice will be loved too
Stability comforts and certainty eases
But I wish to live a life of freedom, passion, creativity, and unrestrained ambition
I wish for my grave to read something other than: “Here lies a man whose future was always certain"
I must embrace uncertainty & instability
@dailystoic Whether it’s 10,000 hours or 1% every day, the idea is always the same
The idea that humans can change their entire life by trudging through the slow but consistent dedication of just a few minutes a day
If you can imagine this in a way that is respectful and kind: in a sense, my goal in life is to laugh in the face of god. A big, happy, hearty laugh shared between the closest of friends. Children should not live in guilt and fear and shame and anxiety. Existence is hilarious
Stability comforts and certainty eases
But I wish to live a life of freedom, passion, creativity, and unrestrained ambition
I wish for my grave to read something other than: “Here lies a man whose future was always certain"
I must embrace uncertainty & instability
You mind is a graph of concepts with thoughts firing like small lightning bolts across it. Sometimes, thoughts end in conclusions that may be emotionally colored. https://t.co/2Hwp1rvTns
Started a Telegram channel— to share more of my musings on the way we think & live.
The genuine exploration of our humanity.

Agreed— things like self-help books provide generic, impersonal wisdom. The author's way of living life written to appear definitive.
We're fooled into thinking that if only we follow this one book, life will be perfect.
Think, experiment, act.
Build your own trove of wisdom.
I admire people who recognize their inherited beliefs and improve on the harmful ones.
They willingly walk into shaky territory, move past tradition, and create their own through repeated experiments and interactions.
A blend of ancestral knowledge and the scientific method.
You wake up everyday to see a reflection of yourself that’s either better or worse than the one from yesterday.
Most days will go by in a daze; the decline will only be noticeable years later.
But luckily for us— we can design a life where the good days outnumber the bad.
Struggling with discipline is in our nature
We didn’t evolve to read books or build careers so naturally the brain doesn’t optimize for it
Easy to say that we should be productive but to fight too hard against our nature is also a problem
As in all things, balance is key
