The City of Long Beach says their new library fence cost $790,000, but records show there was only $418,000 in construction costs. The rest of the money is missing

The City of Long Beach, California is $60 million in debt

“Investigates obtained through a public records request show Quality Fence out of Paramount was hired to build 261 feet of galvanized steel fencing with eight swing gates or doors. The original contract was about $398,000. A later change order increased the height, and that increased the price to roughly $419,000. So what accounts for the remaining $371,436.80?”

The city is trying to say there was things like planning fees but they haven’t released any details showing a breakdown of costs…. (Translation: they’re lying)

Other Long Beach leaders in the homeless department say they shouldn’t have spent $800,000 on a fence because they could have housed 10 people for 1 year with that money

I’m not kidding, they really said that…

“Leaders saying that the nearly $800,000 fencing project fails to center a commitment to providing shelter, adding the same amount of money would have sheltered a minimum of 10 people a year.”

Ohh and while the city is $60 million in debt and raising taxes, they approved millions for a new LGBTQ+ district

The same news channel that covered the pathetic San Diego Democrat “ICE Out of San Diego” rally refused to cover the story of a U.S. Marine who was struck head-on by a 25-year-old drunk driver on his THIRD DUI.

He was here illegally, had been ordered removed, and was protected from deportation under the Biden administration & @GavinNewsom Sanctuary State policies.

The Marine lost his leg. His daughter didn’t survive. He is still recovering from traumatic brain injuries.

CBS Los Angeles put in records requests for the contract details and bids and Gavin Neswsom won’t release it

- CBS requested the contract and related records including competitive bid scoring sheets on May 12, 2026. 4 days after the announcement

- Governor’s office sent them to California Health and Human Services

- That agency sent them to another agency)

Legally, they had up to 10 days to respond on disclosure, but that doesn’t stop them from not releasing it

- California filled a first extension under an unusual circumstances clause
- After 10 days, invoked a clause for another 14 days to decide on disclosure

This is already 24 days to even confirm they were disclosable

- They delayed again and promised copies in 3–4 weeks after that decision
- On the due date of July 3, the state requested another 2 weeks

- 56 days since the request, the state still is refusing to provided the executed contract, procurement packet, scope of work and bid scoring sheets

Again, this was all supposed to just be simply provided within a few days

Only one reason for this, massive fraud and money laundering
