Mr Macaroni that I was on my own ranting here about how the month of May was ALWAYS unfortunate for me, and how it already started with ‘Gbese’ as I accidentally damaged someone’s Lexus with my truck while trying to come out of a tight space, and he entered my DM to ask for the total cost of the damage on both cars to handle. Had to beg him to forget my own truck for me to fix. Sent me 600k just like that.

I was in a restaurant when I received that money, and I shed a few tears. Honestly not because I couldn’t afford it, but because I have hardly been a beneficiary of financial help in my life.

Also gave me and my wife $1k each as his birthday gift to us that same year.

Lost count of the times he dashed my workers wads of mint Naira while we were designing his house.

Many people don't know that the way you type can communicate a lot of messages you don't even realise.

Here are 10 unspoken typing rules many people don't know:

1.🔹 Typing in ALL CAPS means you're shouting.

“I DON'T KNOW IT!” 🗣️ 🗣️

Unless you deliberately want to sound like you're yelling, use normal capitalisation.

Do you know anyone who does that? Tag them if you can. Lol.

2.🔹 MiXiNg CaPs often means you're mocking someone.

“YoU tHiNk YoU kNoW eVeRyThInG.” 😏

This can also be used to imitate someone or make their statement look ridiculous.

3.🔹 “K” can sound dismissive.

“Okay” sounds neutral.

“K” can sound like: “I don't care.”

And you know what's worse? “kk”

4.🔹 Typing “...” can change the tone of a message.

“Okay...”

This can sound hesitant, doubtful, disappointed or passive-aggressive, depending on the context.

5.🔹Putting a word in quotation marks can signal skepticism or irony.

- He is a “professional.”

The quotation marks can imply that you don't really accept that the person is truly a professional. It can be sarcastic or express doubt.

6.🔹 “???” usually signals confusion, disbelief or impatience.

“You did what???”

While one question mark simply asks a question, several question marks otherwise add emotion.

7.🔹 “!!!” adds emphasis or excitement.

“That's amazing!” (normal excitement)
“That's amazing!!!” (extreme excitement)

8.🔹 Typing “lol” doesn't necessarily mean you're actually laughing.

It can simply soften a statement or make it sound less serious.

“That's actually crazy. lol.”

9.🔹 “...” at the end of a sentence can imply that there is more to say.

“John…”

It can sound like a warning, disappointment or “we need to talk.”

10.🔹 Leaving a message without a full stop can make it feel more casual and friendly. But ending it with a full stop can make it sound formal or cold.

“I understand you”
“I understand you.”

In casual texting, the first can feel softer or less formal. As for the second, some people interpret the full stop as a sign of annoyance or finality.

$13,2k stolen from my account

Yesterday I received an email stating I have to redo my KYC, which I then tried doing using the link from that email

I already received a similar email some weeks ago, however it landed in my spam folder and looked weird, and I noticed it wasn’t from Rise

This time it landed in my normal email folder, and the email appeared very professional too

So I felt for it and tried to do KYC using the link, which then first asked me to login to my account using my information

The page also looked very good, so I didn’t think anything of it, but weirdly it didn’t load and proceed to login

About 10 minutes later I then noticed emails about new wallet addresses being added that weren’t mine

And then another email about the $13,2k withdrawal to one of those wallets that I never requested

Just after now I checked and noticed the original KYC email wasn’t officially from Rise, but it was too late

I have some questions, but overall it‘s just quite frustrating

How did this guy even get to my email? I never shared it anywhere publicly?

Unfortunately @UseRisePay support is also quite slow, meaning it will take some time before they respond to my messages

Mostly just sharing this for awareness, make sure you stay safe and also double check such emails

Besides that, if anyone can help or has any tips / similar experiences, please let me know

I‘m strongly assuming the money is gone, but if there is a way to trace it back or have it reverted, that would obviously be what I would try and do
