The goal of both parties is to do what corporations want, do as little for people as possible, while tricking citizens into voting for them. It’s like a game teens play: do as little as possible to spite you while still trying to be a little princess. What, you gonna kick em out?
@mehdirhasan@Knickstape2005 You’re ignoring that they are conflating that if you don’t endorse, it means you support the other guy. I know why you’re ignoring: because you still think Dems care about democracy. But if their message is “if you don’t vote for us, you’re ending democracy”, it’s dead already.
@engelchrudinous@FoxArmer@ryangrim Why the hyperbole then? Just be honest. Just because your brother probably sucks at work and is an asshole who can’t get a job doesn’t mean your Full Sail degree is worth anything.
@engelchrudinous@FoxArmer@ryangrim “It's harder to get an apprenticeship than get into Harvard.” If you literally think this, and there’s no hyperbole, this discussion is over and there is no helping you.
@engelchrudinous@FoxArmer@ryangrim Duh. But I started a successful band with a guy who instead pursued plumbing for the money and stability, so I hear “trades isn’t a panacea” based on your anecdote to be funny. Degrees aren’t a panacea either, but they were certainly treated as such from the 90s-2010s.
@ryangrim Reminds me of a friend with a creative writing BA who couldn’t get into a masters program.. he came out of it realizing no program wanted a white straight male because they thought his writing could never be as good as someone with “cultural experiences”. Why go through that?
@lawswoon@cmclymer@grok Hillary won superdelegates by a wide margin, and of course both campaigns tried to win their votes. And grok says he did campaign with her, like I said.
I’m not about to relitigate this. But the GOP primary was by the rules more democratic than the Dem primary. Nuff said.
@lawswoon@cmclymer Campaigning against Hillary? What? He did MANY campaign events with and for her. I went to one. And Bernie trying to use superdelegates? That just didn’t happen.
Hell of a revisionist history there.
@SantiagoLogic99@hecubian_devil Pretty sure this wasn’t for you lol. And she isnt wrong in that whole analysis, though i wouldn’t say “insane”
The right has a mirrored story being written. Trump promoted the vax, and started this Neocon-led Iran war. And now the populist right is finally bucking him.
