@jvluijmans Zielig debat in Vlaanderen, wat al begint met het prutswerk van De Tijd. Welfare state = verzorgingsstaat = herverdeling. Heeft niks met welvaart te maken. De herverdelende staat zal nooit scheppen en produceren, enkel nemen van de productieven en herverdelen.

Zij die de totale overwinning van Oekraïne vragen, vergeten al te gemakkelijk dat het wel de Russen waren die nazi Duitsland versloegen, zelf miljoenen levens verloren, en aldus het Westen bevrijdden. Dit terwijl de Oekraïners rustig schnaps en sojamelk zaten te nuttigen.

Shocking stat of the day:

Nvidia, $NVDA, Micron, $MU, Broadcom, $AVGO, and Applied Materials, $AMAT, are now expected to generate a record $430 billion in combined free cash flow (FCF) over the next 12 months.

That would be more than TRIPLE the FCF they generated just 2 years ago.

At the same time, the combined FCF of Amazon, $AMZN, Alphabet, $GOOGL, Meta, $META, Microsoft, $MSFT, and Oracle, $ORCL, is projected to turn negative for the first time on record.

That would mark a massive reversal from the +$260 billion peak reported by these companies in 2024.

This comes as AI-related CapEx by these 5 companies is estimated to surge to ~$1.8 trillion in 2026 and 2027 combined.

Chipmakers are becoming cash machines, while AI giants are burning record amounts of capital.

I couldn't agree more. To illustrate the Belgian case: Xi visited IMEC, the world leading microchips development hub in Leuven, already in 2009. Quite some Chinese students spent time there. He came back for a state visit in 2014 with two panda's for the local zoo in the constituency of the Belgian Prime Minister at that moment. Not a bad deal, two panda's for some microchips knowledge.
Luckily, since a couple of years things have changed for the good.
