Every year- on this day- I make it a point to write on Turkey's former PM Bülent Ecevit, whose visit to India in 2000 was a landmark in India-Turkey ties, who translated Rabindranath Tagore's works to Turkish & was a follower of the Bhagwad Gita.

Gold prices fell on Monday after renewed tensions between the U.S. and Iran over the weekend. Remember, prices hit a seven-month low last week, dragged down by expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve will hike interest rates through the year.
Investment banks like Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank have all cut their forecasts for gold. With sentiment around the precious metal in bear territory, BoFA says a level below $4,000 per ounce is a good entry point for investors.
Tell us. If prices do fall below $4,000, would you consider buying gold? Until then, keep an eye on MONIIFY.

Behind every price hike are supply-chain issues.
This time, it’s memory chips. When a key component becomes more expensive, companies eventually pass costs on to consumers.
The takeaway? If a new laptop, tablet, or console is not an immediate need, it might be worth waiting for prices to come down again. If it is, keep some extra cash rather than assuming that prices will fall.
Are these rising prices changing your tech upgrade plans?
Egyptian fintech unicorn MNT-Halan is reportedly preparing for a potential IPO that could value the company at about $1 billion.
The company is said to have tapped Citi and EFG Hermes to work on the planned listing, although no final decision has been made on the timing or size of the offering.

Oman rarely figures in GCC investing conversations🇴🇲
For investors looking beyond the UAE and Saudi Arabia, it might be worth a closer look, though.
Expats can access the market through direct brokerage accounts, while some GCC-focused funds offer limited exposure.

Dubai has launched “Flexi Rent,” a new scheme designed to ease the financial burden on tenants through more flexible rent-payment plans.
The program allows tenants renting from participating real estate companies to choose monthly, quarterly, or annual payment plans.
According to the Dubai Land Department, agreements have already been signed with 12 companies, which can offer instalment plans, grace periods, redesigned payment schedules and, in specific cases, waive rent increases for the year.
Why does it matter to you?
The initiative is aimed at easing the cash flow pressure that comes with renting. Instead of setting aside larger sums for annual rent payments, some tenants may be able to spread that expense over time and manage their finances more smoothly.
Etihad Rail's passenger service is finally becoming a reality🚇

The UAE plans to complete the expansion of its West-East Pipeline by 2027, nearly doubling its oil export capacity through Fujairah.
The pipeline connects Abu Dhabi’s Habshan oil fields to the Gulf of Oman, allowing crude exports to bypass the Strait of Hormuz entirely.
Right now, the pipeline can transport about 1.5 million barrels of oil per day.
Why does this matter?
Because the strait remains one of the world’s most important and vulnerable oil chokepoints. Recent regional tensions and shipping disruption fears have pushed Gulf producers to strengthen alternative export routes.
This is not just about exporting more oil.
It’s about making sure all exports can continue even if one of the world’s most sensitive trade routes becomes harder to rely on.

Egypt and India are exploring trade in Egyptian pounds and Indian rupees instead of the U.S. dollar
Do you think global trade in local currencies can become a viable option?

The EGX30 rallied in April. But the investors behind the rebound tell very different stories. 📈
We break down retail vs institutional money and why who is buying matters more than most people realize.

The U.S. government now owes more than the entire U.S. economy produces in a year. 🇺🇸
Many Gulf economies, on the other hand, are better placed when it comes to this metric.
But what does this ratio mean? Why does it matter to you?

The U.S. Federal Reserve is getting a new head, at a time when policymakers don’t agree on where rates go next.
That uncertainty is what markets are trying to price in now.
