Balemu PS staff, on 23rd Oct 2024,apprehended two drug peddlers with suspected cannabis weighing 163.2 kgs amounting to Rs.13.04 lakhs. The peddlers have been identified as Jintu Daimari and Mintu Daimary of Udalguri,Assam.

Inauguration of Nechiphu tunnel on Balipara-Charduar-Tawang road in West Kameng by Hon Defence Min Shri @rajnathsingh Ji further strengthens our border infrastructure. The tunnel will facilitate swift movement of troops and civilians.

Nechiphu Tunnel is one more example of the Centre’s commitment in improving connectivity in the border region of Arunachal Pradesh. The tunnel will not only shorten the distance for people travelling on the Balipara-Charduar-Tawang (BCT) road but also ease the danger of driving in the fog that engulfs the area for most part of the year.

Dense fog in the area made travelling on the curvy road most dangerous. Many fatal accidents have occurred in the area. This 500-metre long tunnel will now bypass the fog zone providing safe travel to all.
