Zero surprise, a judge appointed by a Democrat knocked the pro-ESA ballot proposition off the Arizona ballot. But I believe the Arizona Supreme Court will do the right thing and put it back on, because there is plenty of precedent where Democratic ballot measures amending the state constitution arguably had more than one provision but judges let them stay on the ballot.

In 2012, Prop. 121 was allowed to remain on the ballot with two provisions; changing the primary elections to a top-two open primary system and ending funding for certain primary election activities. It did not pass. In 2024, Prop. 139 contained multiple provisions expanding abortion, but was allowed to stay on the ballot and "passed."
