@datnofact I wish game devs would give out more options, usually when I have stutters in UE5 its solved by editing a config to remove some option that is barely noticeable in game. I want like an advanced options button that lets me toggle every switch in the engine lol.
@datnofact Could be worse, Canadian drug ads where everyone is super happy saying the drugs name over and over again but they cant say anything about the drug except "ask your doctor what it is"
@datnofact Meh, I'm going down with the ship, none of the other platforms do anything that makes me want to switch, when twitter dies (not if but when) I'll probably just stop using social media altogether.
@chuckuddin Or maybe someone should make something better, people seem to forget twitter was dying long before Elon came by, this site is just shit and needs to be replaced, not by a clone but by something better.
@datnofact Yeah but imagine years ago if like Taco Bell did that, named their store Tackos with a K because they want to Americanize the name, and then said "Yeah we improved upon the taco's being sold elsewhere" it would come across VERY badly.
@datnofact Did you watch the dragon's den episode? The product in question was basically acting like they created it themselves, and they've already apologized and said they are going to change it. I feel the internet is being pretty harsh on Simu who brought up great points on the show.
@datnofact Part of the problem is they are canablizing themselves with their subscription stuff. LIke you can get 1 month of their subscription for half the price of outlaws. It's not one of those mega open worlds thats over 100 hours so you can beat it in a month.
@datnofact The interesting thing to me is how many say its better, but I look at it, and I can see theres a difference, but to me neither is better or worse. I think some people just assume "it uses more resources therefore its better" I think one just looks slightly brighter.
@datnofact Imma be real this is the only kotaku thing that made me smile. Astro bot is the gaming equivalent of when Funko Pops first came out and people just kept showing them off.
@datnofact When you add on that a lot of these next gen games are open world and very derivative, it just amplifies it. I've personally decided to just let go and play older games for a bit until something really pops that I want. I'm hoping Death Stranding 2 runs as well as 1.
@datnofact It drives me nuts, because I look at these games on consoles and I can't tell the difference between a ps4 and ps5 game, its just tiny lighting details that don't matter, and then you see the pc specs and its a huge leap, for what a shiny sheen on a metal surface or some fog.
@datnofact I just wish we could normalize not forcing graphics options on that aren't important. My pc can run FF15 on high settings at 90 fps, plop on the FF16 demo and it can't even get solid 60 on low, and it looks like dogshit because they prioritized lighting you cant turn off.
@DNOpls I think the worst part is being a pc gamer who is ok setting games on low graphics, and realizing that you can't turn off most of the new lighting effects that make the difference between a ps4 and ps5 gen game, so the game runs bad, AND looks bad.
@datnofact One is taking other peoples work and giving it out for free, and the other is selling something they made out of something stolen. Both of them seem pretty amoral to me. They are both essentially theft, and I'd argue the archive is worse, far worse.
