We’re thrilled to announce that @FilipOttosson2 is our new Head of Metabolomics. He has a strong background from @lunduniversity and @SSI_dk and will be leveraging our metabolomics data with nationwide health data and cohorts to understand the development and course of IBD.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM ALL OF US AT PREDICT 🌲
Thank you to all collaborators for a great year. We are looking forward to an exciting 2025.
Season's Greetings from everyone at PREDICT,
@DrTineJess@GrundforskFond, @aalborg_uni, @AalborgUH, @aausund
At today’s center meeting, we learned that we eat a lot of cake at the office! In 2024, we already celebrated 33 publications and 27 birthdays but we only ate cake 20 times. If everyone had brought cake for every birthday and publication, we would have eaten 6.5 cakes per month🍰
Today, Henrik Albæk Jacobsen defended his PhD thesis that focused on combining regional and national registers in studies of IBD with bravura and with great evaluations by @EdwardLoftus2 from @MayoClinic and Ebbe Langholz from @HerlevGentofte.
Congratulations, Henrik!👏
Last week five PREDICT members shared their new discoveries at UEG 2024! @alehins and @marie_vibeke gave talks, and @Evangelin_Vitus presented her poster. @alehins, @Evangelin_Vitus and @JulsgaardMette were all awarded🏅👏 Thank you for this inspiring week!✨
New study in @JAMA_current: UC patients with HLA-DRB1*01:03 face higher risk of severe Disease. 42% of carriers require major IBD surgery within 3 years vs 9% of non-carriers @marie_vibeke @alehins @DrTineJess https://t.co/mE8D9gGyYU
PREDICT is delighted to contribute to @dsfepi's 30th anniversary meeting 💬
Professor @m_boegsted and Associate Professor @alehins gave presentations. PhD student @BonfilsLinea and Biostatistician Christian Sørensen had poster presentations.
After a great year with us, PhD student Anna-Teresa D'Hooghe and research assistant Olivier Ducazu are heading back home to Belgium 🛫 Anna-Teresa focused on prognostic and predictive factors in IBD-patients and Olivier contributed to important research. We wish them all the best

Both maternal AND paternal IBD diagnosis before childbirth are associated with a higher risk of IBD in the offspring. Factors other than in utero inflammation play a role in IBD risk.

A big congratulations to Savannah Gordon from @imperialcollege, who just graduated. She has spent the last six months working on a bioinformatics research project, supervised by @RahmaElmahdi with help from Nadja Riis and @KristineAllin, as part of her Immunology MSc 🎓
📢 WE ARE HIRING!

We ran, walked, and had a great time at this year’s DHL Stafetten in Fælledparken. DHL Stafetten is a relay race for companies, and due to the number of participants, it’s the world’s largest exercise run 🏃♀️🏃♂️
