Let me ask you this:- did you ever see, communist writer Sunil Gangopadhyay write in his 2006 memoir, Ardhek jibon, about how he used to feel physically attracted to a clay idol of Maa Saraswati and experience physical arousal? He even confessed to touching and kissing that idol.

Have you ever seen West Bengal's civil society protest against this? Have you seen @IamSumanDe , the businessman disguised as a journalist, run Ghonta Khanek debates on it?

Let me give you another example. When an independent media outlet asked Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya regarding the incident last year in Kakdwip where the head of a Maa Kali idol was chopped off by Jihadist, what his comment was,

Bikash dismissively replied, মাটির মূর্তির আবার মুণ্ডু কি (It's just a clay idol, what the head , mundu ki!)

Look at his choice of words: “mundu ki” (what the head).

Have you ever seen the Bengali media host hours of expert panels tearing the communists apart over this?

This is the same Bikash who called Mahishasura a martyr and Maa Durga an Aryan invader. You will never see these civil society people protest against any of this!
Today, they are putting on a big show of being pious.
