Ahead of The Guess Who tour, my 1963 Fender Stratocaster found its way back to me. I am indebted to my stage manager, Terry Dawson, for his work restoring it, as it wasn't in great shape when it was returned to us. Some of you with a keen eye might recall seeing me play it on stage during the 1992 Ringo Starr All-Starr Tour, or recognize it from the cover of my 1984 album Heart.
Terry pointed out that the guitar is turning 63 years old this month, as it was manufactured on June 2, 1963. I do enjoy picking it up and stepping away from the keyboard for a couple of songs each night.

After BTO, I had a band called Ironhorse. "Sweet Lui-Louise" made the top 20 on Billboard but because of the new band name, it went largely unrecognized...except for in Italy, where it was a #1 hit for 16 weeks!

I should be able to post that I love Canada without getting backlash. Our country needs improvements, yes, but we have a lot to be grateful for. I will not stop showing my pride for my country! I will keep defending Canadaβs sovereignty, and speaking my mind. Whoβs with me! π¨π¦
NATIONAL ADDRESS ON THE ECONOMY... π¨π¦
π₯ Thereβs a reason that Mark Carney is one of the most respected leaders in the world.
His leadership skills, wisdom and economics acumen are widely sought out.
His schedule at global conferences is always PACKED, as political and business leaders queue up for a few minutes of one-on-one time, to pick his brain on various current and future global issues.
WE are so fortunate to have him as our Prime Minister.
The right leader, at the absolute right time. ππΌ
And here, in his latest detailed statement to Canadians ποΈ, the wisdom is on FULL DISPLAY as he lays out the FACTS of where we are as a nation, and the STRATEGY he has created to navigate Canada through these precarious times, so that when the dust settles, we are strong, sovereign, and prosperous. πβ
π³ PRIME MINISTER CARNEY: βWe have to take care of ourselves because we can't rely on one foreign partner. We can't control the disruption coming from our neighbours. We can't bet our future on the hope that it will suddenly stop.
But we can control what happens here. We can build a stronger country that can withstand disruptions from abroad. That creates good jobs here at home. That's a leader in this new world with a vast network of reliable allies.
That's the Canada Strong plan we're putting into action. Its goals are ambitious: to catalyze one trillion dollars in investment, to create one Canadian economy out of thirteen, to build new trade and energy corridors, and to double the size of our clean energy capacity.
Yes, that's ambitious. But in a crisis, fortune favours the bold. And there's comfort and confidence to be found in our country's history. After all, our ancestors built an improbable country in an inhospitable land where people were free to live their own lives.β
Jeff Porcaro was on drums for the original recording of βNever Had a Lady Before,β with Ian Gardiner on bass and Danny Weis on guitar. This performance is from my 1977 CBC TV special.
