For years they were well-below the requested percentages.

Today they remain well below the requested 5% - sitting at 2%.

Why haven’t more international activists made clear that Canada undermines NATO when they don’t pay their fair share?

Consecutive Canadian leaders have expected Americans to pay for their defense.

Gavin Newsom just drove out a $100M Netflix show to New Jersey (which was originally slated to shoot in CA) all because he denied the show a film tax credit. This is what's happening to the US, more broadly. Tax credits win productions, productions bring jobs. Anyone who doesn't compete will be left in the dust.

Ironically, the show is called "Trigger Point", which is a wildfire term firefighters use to determine when it's time to bug out...which is exactly what the film industry is doing.

It's actually a really simple argument, David. Illegal aliens can't commit crimes in the U.S. if they aren't released into the U.S. I know that goes against what you advocate for at Cato, which is literal open borders, but perhaps one day you will understand the frustration for families when their loved ones are killed or harmed by somebody who should have never been in the country.

Yes, US citizens of course commit horrible crimes too. Nobody disputes that. I'm not even saying aliens commit more crimes than Americans.

I'm saying Angel families don't want to hear "Americans kill too!!!". They want to know why someone in violation of our nation's laws, which were passed on a bipartisan basis decades ago, is still in the country, and sometimes released over and over and protected by sanctuary laws.

Had laws been enforced, their loved one wouldn't have ever come in contact with the aliens who harmed them. It's that simple.

I was in an Uber in LA yesterday with a driver recently arrived from China who had zero English. Like zero - not ‘hello’, or ‘fine’ to ‘how are you.’ He raced along a freeway I did not recognize and I couldn’t see his screen to check the destination. When I asked ‘What address do you have??’ — as it looked as if we were leaving the city — he so completely didn’t understand me that I had to look up a Mandarin character for ‘what is the address’ and showed it to him in a tik tok video as we sped along at 75 miles an hour. Lack of English is a safety issue among all the other issues it represents.
