$AMZN just bought Fauna Robotics, a 3.5 feet tall humanoid robot start up
the goal of this form factor isn’t to compete with the other humanoid companies in jobs that require advanced hand dexterity, it’s to dominate the market of jobs that only require a moving body, such as retail & hospitality, education, tour guides, etc… there are a tons of physical jobs that don’t require hands, and a miniature, emotional expressive, safety-first design is the ideal form factor to tackle this market
For those who can't see it, Amazon Leo investments will lead directly into their future AI orbital data center business. This is $AMZN's preparation for the SpaceX disruption of terrestrial data centers.
the best-case orbital data center scenario for the hyperscalers is if SpaceX dramatically lowers launch costs via Starship but fails to produce chips via the terafab
this would force them to sell their extra launch capacity to other cloud providers who have chips to power
@DrPhiltill I thought the same thing. I'm hoping long term it will be Blue Origin selling the picks and shovels for orbital launches and satellite rack, and AWS hosting the cloud and supplying the chips.
