To drive shared prosperity, we need to make sure that everyone can get #education and the lifelong training needed to succeed in the 21st century.
This is our commitment to provide access to #books to the most marginalized in the society. This is the only way we can #EndPoverty
Creating prosperity is the only way we’ll ever alleviate poverty. When that happens, countries will no longer depend on UK Aid. https://t.co/cB94thxMzQ

Please direct your beautiful prayers to the @chessinslums team members and volunteers too🥺.
It was a collective effort of selfless dedication where every single person(In different capacities)poured their hearts into making this Makoko chess dream a reality.
For a child with such incredible gift, it broke my heart to learn that he and his siblings have never had any form of formal education.
The @chessinslums has decided to put Fredinard on scholarship support, and will continue to sponsor his education for as long as possible.
It didn’t take long to realize that Fredinard was perhaps a savant when I gave him a complex Knight move geometry to solve few minutes after teaching him the basic movement of the Knight piece.
This in itself is an extraordinary feat, even for a genius.
He was born to play chess
A slum is just a place, it doesn’t define the people who live there. This is why we must be relentless in our fight to create an equitable future for these children who have been marginalized for so long.
To let them know that their dreams are valid too.
For the little boy with dreamy eyes, this is just the beginning of his beautiful story.
In those two weeks where we taught him chess, I never heard him speak an English word but on the final day of the tournament when he held up his trophy, he muttered the word “champion”.
After two intense weeks of chess lessons in the slums of Makoko, we held a tournament to test their understanding of the game and celebrate their excellence.
The miracle child with Cerebral palsy Fredinard Won with a phenomenal performance.
A star is born.
In #Nigeria, over 13 million children are out of school, even though primary #education is officially free.
This is worrisome as over 95% of these kids only have access to learning materials at #school.
This is why there is need to decentralize their ACCESS TO #BOOKS.
If a child is behind academically or socially, it isn’t necessarily because the parents weren’t engaged, says Bweikia Steen. Many parents are working hard to make ends meet, leaving less or very little time for reading with their kids. https://t.co/0UdaEzN3t5
