According to the National Reading Barometer SA, 76% of adult African language speakers who read for enjoyment want to read in African languages. However, access to reading materials in African languages is limited.
To increase access to stories in African languages, Nal'ibali calls on African children's story writers to submit their stories. If you want your story published on the Nal'ibali website, the Nal'ibali reading supplement, or on air, submit it here https://t.co/ATldGR5ti1 .

South Africa, Tuesday, 09 April 2024 – The board of the Nal’ibali Trust, a reading for enjoyment campaign is delighted to announce the appointment of Lorato Trok as the new director, starting 1 May 2024.

Reading for comprehension and an advanced use of grammar become vital in high school - but most teens are battling. How do we help them? https://t.co/eD0KGFDY0e
We love peeking into writer's writing rooms. Where the magic happens. How's this for a cute and focused writing space from @MReyesWrites. Note there's no bed in there, that might be too tempting for afternoon naps! 📚😍

🏠 Writing Studio update!
I’m (mostly) all moved in! Soon I’ll be sharing a blog post about the whole journey, for anyone’s who’s interested.
It’s also my first morning writing in here and I cranked out 1,200 like it was nothing. So… the studio is basically magic. 😁
