In order to block Prof Lewis from a job he was overqualified for, they were plotting to change the entire qualification protocol so a woman who didn't have the right credentials could get it, placing the university's accreditation in jeopardy.
Anti-Blackness is a hell of a drug.
Lamar Jackson says he watched friends chase fast money while he was playing the long game and counting how many years it would take him to reach the NFL
āIām seeing my friends who I was growing up with who I was playing football with⦠Just throw their life away for fast money and stuff like that. They used to tell me āOh, you talk too muchā. Because I used to always speak about football and positivity stuff. They didnāt want to hear that.ā
āNow itās like⦠Theyād rather hear it now because Iām Lamar Jackson. But Iāve been speaking about it. Everybody just wasnāt listening. I was already seeing what was going on. I wish we could go back in time and yāall could see what I was seeing. Because I always looked at life like, I counted years.ā
āLike I would think⦠āHow many years does it take to get to the league?ā Theyāre saying⦠āYou do three years in college.ā I said⦠āIām doing three years.ā Iām not doing four. Iām not trying to go fifth year. Iām doing three years because Iām going to make sure my family is good.ā
āIf youāre coming from a place like where I come from, donāt try to be like the guys around you. Donāt look up to the stuff that looks like itās fun⦠Because sometimes it gets you in trouble.ā
āItās sacrificing. āMan, I canāt have fun right now. Iāve got to get my family right. I canāt do this right now. I canāt mess up.ā Forget the fast money. Iāve got to think about longevity.ā
āYou can get locked up and do five years for $1,000. That money gone. Itās gone. Youāre like⦠āMan, I just did that for $1,000ā¦ā And I could have waited five years and I wouldāve had $10 million.ā
āThatās why Iām where Iām at right now. Thatās how I used to think. My mom working⦠Sheās busting her behind. Itās me, my brother and my two sisters at home. Iām the oldestā¦ā
āSo Iāve got to make sure everybody right. And itās like⦠Man, I canāt wait, but Iāve got to wait. Thatās the sacrifice. Iāve got to be patient. People donāt look at it like that. Itās like⦠āMan, I need that money right now.ā But you donāt need that money right now. Just wait.ā
šØBREAKING: An ICE/Border Patrol agent approached a U.S. citizen at a gas station, in Lake Worth, Florida, demanded his ID, and when the U.S. citizen asked why? ā¦
The agentās said, āBecause youāre an immigrant.ā
Except that is not how the Constitution works.
In the video, the U.S. citizen is standing at a gas station when an agent walks up and says, āLet me see your ID.ā
The man asks a completely reasonable question, āWhy?ā
The agent responds, āBecause youāre an immigrant.ā
And before the man has even been identified, the agents grab his hands and puts him in handcuffs.
People standing around immediately start questioning what is happeningā¦asking the agents how they can arrest someone when they havenāt even identified who he isā¦
But the agents ignore them and walk the man to their vehicle.
The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures. The Supreme Court has held that roving Border Patrol agents need reasonable suspicion, based on specific circumstances, to stop someone and question them about immigration status. And apparent ethnicity, by itself, is not enough.
So, what was the actual legal basis for demanding this man show his ID?
Because if the answer is literally⦠ābecause youāre an immigrant,ā that should piss off every American.
You should not have to prove youāre a U.S. citizen before the government decides it has the right to put you in handcuffs.
And this is just another reminder that constitutional rights donāt mean anything if federal agents can violate them, over and over again, with no accountability.
B Hen & Jeff Teague were LOST for words when Barbee said she wants her man to pay all her bills AND $10K a month so she can comfortably shop, travel & live her life šš°
