Jason Reynolds' thoughts on the current book bans speaks volumes,"As adults we want children to be better than we are, and in order to do so, they must have the information that we did not have. So to stop that information, really makes us all hypocrites." #FReadom
a patron just diagnosed a computer as having "the freezies" anddddd now i'll be using that as a self-diagnosis for not getting anything done today. #saturdaylibrarian#imletired
@lmansley Assistantships, law library circ assistant, nannying, para-pro for an outreach services team...truly the busiest but most fulfilled in work that I've ever been!
It's officially the end of our #SummerReadingChallenge & I'm so proud of all these amazing patrons who completed the program. Congrats to all of the youngest readers -- truly an inspiration! And congrats to all the librarians /workers who made it thru a v weird summer ๐๐ #cslp
Also - if anyone's looking for resources to share with parents as they're sending kiddos back to school right now (helping with reentry anxiety, info about MIS-C, etc.) this resource guide from @BostonChildrens is really helpful.

Awww I gotta say, I'm almost proud of myself that my first "on-the-record" complaint was about being too loud in the library (yes, by a patron who was trying to tutor in the Children's section). She even reminded me that "This is a library!!!"
Is anyone surprised? Lol.
is it bad that when i was asking someone drinking a twisted tea in the library to take it outside that i also wanted to ask if they had another one for me ๐คฃ
Had a younger patron come in to ask about being a librarian (and took copious notes under a list she titled "How to become a librarian") & she proceeded to tell me how excited she is to be a Children's Librarian one day! If that doesn't give you the #FridayFeels, idk what will!
Officially a member of the Louisiana Young Readers' Choice grades 3-5 committee...any tips/advice for being on these types of readers' advisory committees? I'm beyond excited & grateful but know I have so much to learn!
Well, well. Looks whatโs filming in Mandeville. This is a production placard for the Reese Witherspoon-produced adaptation of the novel โWhere the Crawdads Sing,โ shooting in the#NOLA area through June. Welcome to town, @ReeseW.
Every community deserves a fully-funded, modern library. If you agree, show your support by urging members of Congress to #BuildLibraries. With your support, we can invest in library infrastructure for generations to come.
