Today, 10 schools have been targeted by Syrian and Russian forces in #Idlib & #Aleppo countryside. As a state party to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Syrian government's deliberate destruction of schools violates International Humanitarian Law.
Rest in Peace, Safia Eid.
It is absolutely unbelievable & unacceptable that teachers are KILLED BY BOMBS DROPPED ON SCHOOLS.
Syrian kids need books & education, not bombs. #BooksNotBombs
Safia Eid, the 35-year-old teacher, succumbed to her wounds today after her school was bombed in #Sarmin massacre on January 1 by regime forces with cluster bombs. Today Safia joined her son Abdel-Qader and 10 other people, including 4 of her students who were killed that day.
Another school bombed today in #Idlib by Assad regime forces.
No student should ever experience this horror while trying to learn.

Students around the world are going #BacktoSchool but in Idlib many of the schools are not operating, having either been bombed or repurposed as shelters. The existing schools can only take 300,000 of the 650,000 school-age children in the area https://t.co/2WC20sg1Nw
If all universities followed @UniofReading's lead, we'd make a huge difference in the lives of many students from conflict zones. Bravo 👏👏👏 https://t.co/Br8ORBpVRV
We've had feedback over the last week that some people are unhappy with our plan to offer up to 14 scholarships to refugees living in the local area. To these people, we would like to say: Tough. Jog on. https://t.co/ioDLPp5crw
