Why do half the Americans support Trump? Can you explain without demonizing or being condescending (I am just trying to understand)?
There are a number of reasons. Firstly, there are a number of “news” outlets controlled by the right wing whose mission is to push misinformation and disinformation by “catipulting the propoganda”. In addition to that there are a number of single-issue voters who vote for Trump. The rich vote for Trump because they know they'll get tax cuts. The religious right votes for Trump because he panders to them and they believe he'll violate the constitution by tearing down the wall between church and state. Then, there's the truly vile group that votes for Trump because he hates the same people they do (Liberals, Minorities, Foreigners, Women, Transexuals, Homosexuals) and they hope he will make their lives more difficult and punish them. Hate is a big factor, they hate something, taxes, the wall between church and state or certain people. Trump is the most hate-fueled POTUS in American history.
