Just finished: Results May Vary by Bethany Chase

I really enjoyed this, @ElysiaLStrife! I love holiday-themed stories so much. Amber works with flowers on her family’s farm. She supplies bouquets to local shops and sells at the Farmer’s Market, where she meets Fynn.

I finished The Ferryman by Justin Cronin late last night. Really incredible. It has everything: dreams vs what’s real, environmental disasters, sailing, and love for family including found family. I especially loved the different iterations of each character. Well done, sir!

So cute! My first by this author! I love that there is real emotional depth to the story even though it is so short.

I could NOT stop listening to this one. It was fast-paced, twisty, and completely bonkers with one really huge twist that completely floored me. My first by this author, but I’ll listen to more by her (and soon!) because this was super F-U-N. 👁️

A Rare Benedictine (Chronicles of Brother Cadfael #0.5)

Three novellas in one volume, prequels to the historical mystery series featuring medieval sleuth Brother Cadfael. Set in the 1100’s which is one of my favorite time periods. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

Valentine’s Day in Venice by Stephanie Taylor.

Quick, easy, and cute. A palate-cleanser for me after a string of horror and thriller reads. I love seasonal stories so I plan to continue this series where each book features a holiday adventure in a fun travel location.

A fun locked-room mystery with suspense. Started slowly, but finished strong. No one in the story is safe! Not everyone makes it out. This was my first by Nalini Singh.

A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick, a reread. This is a book full of people wanting things that belong to other people, and they all hurt one another because of it. No one is good here.

I love Robert Goolrick’s work. It’s dark, it’s snowy, it’s tragic.

@megsnewhips @WmMorrowBooks There were two timelines, a present day and one from the late 1890’s. I LOVED the 1890’s part and thought the present-day part was just okay. But a great story, overall. I felt like I was living in the mining camps alongside the characters. Lots of greed and betrayal.

Second book of 2024 finished! The Drift by CJ Tudor. Unputdownable, horrifying, snowy, bloody. I could NEVER have predicted the twists in here. It was a perfect vacation read!
