Remove cheap labor and de-regulate working hour limits and the balance between carrier, shipper, and broker is restored.

@vinnie_bitcoins @SecDuffy It's still a ways off. You will see it in big cities first. You would need massive innovation in battery life (think miles traveled) without needing a charge. I can get 1200-1500 miles without fueling up on my rig. It'll be used to transport from ports to warehouses first.

@vinnie_bitcoins @SecDuffy 2) Yes, businesses hire foreign labor bc they can shave more off the top of the freight rate, they don't have to pay the insurance, fuel, and maintenance, and they can release them from employment whenever without cause because most are owner operators (independent contractors)

@vinnie_bitcoins @SecDuffy 1) There is an artificially created shortage caused by over-regulation of workable hours. (11 hrs driving/14 total per day/70 hrs per 8 days/mandatory/34hr reset). These regulations were relaxed for 2 years during covid meaning they are arbitrary. Creates an artificial shortage.

@ScottPresler Just voted in a very small town (pop. ~500) in wood county 30 mins ago. We were voters 208 and 209 for the day. No lines, but also steady stream of voters for the 10 mins we were there.
