@burgess_ag Replaced ours with Ace stainless pump same as on hardi SP and works awesome. Has Run dry safety and holds pressure great. No more pulsing. Pump was cheaper than a new 464 but about same $ by the time plumbed and installed. Have had to replace seals once but an easy fix.
@karl_pfitzner Same here Karl. The old man might not remember things so well now-days but knows where the stone patches are as heโs been doing them for 60+ years!
@Ashley_Jacobs92 I refer to our neck of the woods as the Bermuda Triangle as rain clouds often disappear! Hope a good drop is shared by all when it is needed๐๐ป
@fiona_palmer Good luck. Brings back some memories. Spent a lot of time in the shed rebuilding these Fert tubes. Last set I did made out of hollow bar with 8mm wall thickness. A lot heavier but way more durable. Also made new press wheel arms out of 12mm plate ๐ช
@LauraHillsLamb I find with a mixture of cropping and sheep it makes sense to get some free N in the pasture phase. We never grow enough bulk early unless we sow something. I am progressively sowing more vetch with barley or oats on medic ground. Graze and grass free later when medic kicks in.
@LauraHillsLamb Hi Andrew I sowed a blend of oats, vetch, canola and field peas into a good medic pasture after ewes had lambed and ended up with a pure oat sample @ the end. Everything else succumbed to the dry winter. I will try again as I like the theory of it
@nullaboo48 I put a set on last summer Nulla and like them. A bit of reassurance to see all the nozzles are working. Seem to be doing more and more in the dark nowadays chasing better conditions
The youngest apprentice turned 5 today. Just before Santa arrives! Has been a challenging year with the dry but the little fella has been by my side as always trying to help and constantly reminding me of why we do what we do.
@AussieDexters It is purely for our own use through our stock at this stage. I am having a feed test done for nutrition analysis and will also do a germination test aswell as I may need it for sowing pastures next year to get cover on them.
Time to cash in our drought insurance policy after failed crops this season. Wharley that wouldnโt go through Viterra system buried in 2010. Was only worth $80/t @ the time. Priceless to me today๐
@percytonfarmer It was certainly tempting to get it out last year when feed prices went through the roof however we grew just enough of our own feed to get us through. Different scenario this year though so thankful I still have it.
@aussie_robbob Not sure how long it will last. I think the Key is keeping the moisture and air out of it. In the mid nineties we dug some oats up which had been buried the same way only theyโd been underground for 13 years. Smelled a bit musty but the sheep still went for it.
@stationmum101 My grandpa had a sense of humour when he named this farm back in the 20โs. Boongala is a local aboriginal word roughly translates as 'shady placeโ. Irony is thereโs hardly a tree around the house.
