I made a mistake!

From the beginning, I thought I had a great domain name because it fully represented my idea – backlinks specifically for indie founders – and it was easy to remember.

Backlinks in SEO clearly offer undeniable benefits, increasing website coverage, brand awareness, DR, and traffic...

Excellent, the absolute best, I'm a genius!

But no...

Selling backlinks is illegal for Search Engines! Oh my goodness...

Anyone who does SEO is probably very familiar with this. I'm just a bit clueless, so I made this silly mistake.

Never mind, let fix the mistake...

I've decided to pivot "IndieBacklink" to @IndieBoosting !

WHY DID I FIND OUT?

After sharing a post on the subreddit "r/roastmystartup" and getting banned, yea that’s why… 🤣

THE LESSON?

Fortunately, it's only in the early stages, so pivoting wasn't too difficult.
If I hadn't "built in public" and waited a while for things to grow, it would have been much more challenging.
Pivoting would have been extremely complicated because of all the boosting channels of my users that I couldn't control.

It's like there's good and bad things in the same situation 😂

I built a platform where indie makers can pay each other to share backlinks - roast my monetization strategy

I got tired of seeing new indie makers struggle to get noticed while successful ones sit on valuable homepage real estate. So I built IndieBacklink - it lets established indie makers earn passive income by featuring newer products on their sites.

Here's the deal:
- New makers pay credits to get featured
- Successful makers embed our widget on their site
- They earn per view/click while helping others grow

Right now I’ve got:

“If you’re launching without panic, you launched too late” - So I am doing it now! 💪

Suddenly remembered an idea last weekend, so I dove right in, even though I've only finished the basic part, but it's worth sharing anyway 😁

It’s all started with WHY:

To reach more people, to have more users and customers, we sometimes need PAID ADS, but not everyone has a good budget for advertising, and not everyone is an expert. Especially for my fellow indie makers, small shop owners, or SMEs.

☝️If you think, "well, running ads with a small budget is fine"

Think again, because it won't help and you're just throwing your money away. When running ads with a small budget, you'll reach a very small audience size, and the chance of converting them into customers is even slimmer. Not to mention, this small reach is likely to be bots, especially on X or Google

🫸"I'll do this myself to learn and become better", this is true for most fields, but for paid ads, it's quite painful, every mistake costs $$$, you'll spend quite a bit trying and failing until you think you've learned something. It's not for nothing that advertising companies and ad experts still have their place, they've paid a hefty price for the experience they have today.

💡 To solve this problem, I created @Boost_Together - the only place where "$1 is worth $5" (even more) - interesting, right? 😎

The name says it all, doesn't it?

The way it works is actually incredibly simple: "pooling resources to cook together”

For example:
- You have product A in category B, and your budget is $20.
- If you run paid ads yourself, you might reach 2,000 people
- Imagine now there are 4 more people with products in category B to join with you, all products will be placed in a landing page or links in the same post, each spending $20.
- So, the total budget will be $100, and the reach will be 10,000 people (5 times more!)

BoostTogether is created to connect people with similar needs, and to ensure fairness and mutual benefit between parties.

The product was born overnight, so it's unavoidable that there are gaps and shortcomings. But lately, I've stopped thinking about it. I just ship it, and patch it later 😆

But to reduce the risk, for now, in this early beta version, BoostTogether will allow users to connect with each other, group their products. If we are lucky enough to reach the PMF and everything runs more smoothly later, I'll open it up for ad specialists and other experts to have the opportunity to process & execute campaigns on BoostTogether as well, helping small individuals/businesses reach more people and earn extra income at the same time.
