@oliverburdick Things like the 2nd generation of humanity being brothers (and some unnamed extras not described) are a clear sign that the whole thing was cobbled together as an allegorical history. Imagine believing an ancient folk text to be a complete account to accept without question.
@lorenzo_xv@oliverburdick So true. Critical intelligent thinking is hard for some people. Just believing the story you got told as a result of the accident of where you were born makes much more sense.
UK #hoverfly experts! is this volucella zonaria? I had to rescue it from a couple of colleagues who thought it was hornet and had “plans” for it. @YorksWildlife
Nearly time to pack up the telescope for the summer, but here is the Leo triplet of galaxies from last night. This little family of galaxies is 35 million light-years away, and receding fast as the universe expands.
“Autobahn” is officially my funeral music. The album version. All of it. Hopefully in fifty years or so. This looks like a very good edition to me… @ElectronicMagUK
Having fun with a new lens for my telescope. Focal reducers let you take wider field views with a telescope - great for the big gas clouds like these ones…
A short display of the #AuroraBorealis for New Year’s Day. The clouds have drawn in now, but it was an excellent naked-eye display while it lasted. #yorkshirewolds#howsham.
Finally! A clear sky that did not conflict with an early start, an evening commitment or a pile of marking. Jupiter at 7.00pm last night, glorious in the eastern sky after sunset.
